Arm Marathon Foundation organizes a number of running events in Armenia throughout the year. Yerevan Marathon is the main event of the series, with the largest number of participants from Armenia and abroad. Important information about the run :

YEREVAN MARATHON AT A GLANCE
Yerevan Marathon is an annual long-distance running event organized in Yerevan, capital of Armenia, and is the successor of Yerevan Half Marathon organized in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Since 2018 the race also includes a full marathon distances, as well as the shorter distances.
Yerevan Marathon is organized by Arm Marathon Foundation, Yerevan City Administration and TriClub multisport club.
The Marathon starts in the very center of Yerevan, near Republic square. Route takes runners through beautiful central streets of Yerevan and to Hrazdan River gorge, later returning to start location.
The Half Marathon route is precisely measured and certified by AIMS. Marathon route awaits certification. All runner results are measure with precise timing equipment.
Event is open to runners of all abilities, they can choose from one of the four distances
- 1km kids run - for children on 3 to 12 years (children under 7 years must be accompanied by parents)
- 5km - for runners 13 years old and older
- 12km - for runners 16 years old and older
- 21,1km – for runners 18 years old and older
- 42,2 km – for runners 18 years old and older
RACE OVERVIEW
Yerevan Marathon is organized within the city limits of Yerevan. Altitude of the race is between 970 and 1070 meters. Total elevation gains are for 21,1km - 165m, and for 42,2km - 300m
Temperature ranges for the race time has historically ranged between 10 and 20 degrees centigrade.
Abbott WMM Wanda Age Group World Championship
The Yerevan Marathon is a qualifying race for the Abbott WMM Wanda Age Group World Championship 2025.
Abbott WMM Wanda Age Group World Championship
Abbott WMM Wanda Age Group World Championship launched by Abbott World Marathon Majors and Wanda Group. The top ranked runners in age groups can qualify to participate in the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships, to be held within the 2025 Virgin Money London Marathon.
The list of qualifying races includes all six AbbottWMM marathons, as well as several dozens of other marathons across the world. Among them is Yerevan Marathon. The full list of the qualifying races is available on worldmarathonmajors.com.
How does the AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Ranking work?
Participants in an AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Ranking qualifying race will earn points according to their age, time and gender, aligned with the following age groups for men and women: 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.
The best two results in select qualifying marathons over this period will count for each runner’s ranking. The top-ranked runners in every age group will qualify to run in the spring 2025 AbbottWMM Wanda Age Group World Championships.

How are points scored to the participants of six Abbott WMM races?
The maximum points that can be scored in any race by an age-group winner is 4,000. The age group winners in any Abbott WMM race will automatically get 4,000 points.
Any age group athlete who is within 29 seconds of the age group winning time receives 10 points less, earning 3990 points. Runners within 30-59 seconds of the winning time receive 20 points less - that is 3980 points. Those earning times within 60-89 seconds less than the age group winning time receive 30 points less, and so on.
How are points scored to the participants of marathons beyond the six AbbottWMM races?
For those athletes who participate in qualifying races that are not part of the Abbott WMM series (including the Yerevan Marathon), a platinum time has been calculated A platinum time uses standard multiples of the ‘mean’ of the current marathon world record times for each age group and gender. In order to get 4000 points, an athlete has to finish faster than the "platinum time". In the future, the same system will be used for scoring, as well as for participants of majors with the same points degradation - 29 seconds.
If the age group winning time is below the platinum time, then the points awarded to the winner and every subsequent age group runner are reduced by the time the age group winner has missed platinum time for the age and gender of the athlete.

- 42,2 km – for runners 18 years old and older
- 21,1km – for runners 18 years old and older
- 12km - for runners 16 years old and older

For age limitation and age group award purposes, participant’s age is determined as of December 31, 2024. There will be exception for pre-registered kids. Their age group will be determined as of December 31, 2023.

- Servicemen of the Armenian Armed forces who were participants of 44 day war of 2020 can participate free of charge (while places are available). For participation contact info@armeniamarathon.org.
- Technical T-shirts are included in the price for all participants
- For participants of 1km kids race T-shirts are included in the race package.
CANCELLATIONS
Entry fees are non-refundable. Participant and distance changes are possible no later April 7, 2024. For changes to smaller distances participation fee difference is not refundable. For changes to longer distances participation fee difference must be paid at the EXPO, or to bank account of Arm Marathon Foundation. For changes and inquiries please email info@armeniamarathon.org.
PACKET PICK-UP
Race Pack pick up will happen on April 27, 2024, 10:00 – 19:00, location TBA. Participants must present a valid ID to receive their racing packs. Please note that we do not require medical certificates.
Start, Course, and finish
- Start Date: April 28, 2024.
- Start Location: Shahumyan Square, Yerevan, Armenia. Finish and Start location are the same.
- Official Route of 42,2km and 21,1 km run is through the Yerevan city center and gorge of Hrazdan river.
AID STATIONS
Water / food stations are located every 4-5 km. Stations serve water, Coca Cola, isotonic drinks, fruits, and energy gels. Medical aid is available at the Start/Finish area, at the 5km, 12km, 24km, 36km points.

IMPORTANT: To receive the racing pack participants must present a valid ID. For underage participants one of the parents must be present and sign a written agreement.
